By the end of 1980 Vladimir Sichov became the most published photographer in the world.
In May 1980 he was invited by Larry King to appear on his midnight radio talk show and
after that he was on prime time with Dan Rather, Tom Brokaw and Peter Jennings on their
TV news shows....
Just after the first “Paris Match” publication, Helmut Newton, the fashion photographer,
met Vladimir Sichov and they became friends.
It was Helmut Newton who advised French “Vogue” to give a trial contract to a new
Russian photographer. This led to a 40 – page first publication (“Haute Couture seen by
Vladimir Sichov”) and a firm contract.
Vladimir Sichov became the first photographer with whom French “Vogue” signed a

Pierre Berge used his photograph for the cover of his book “Letters to Yves” (Yves Saint

The Piano Concerto No. 3 in D minor, Op. 30 Rachmaninoff
Allegro ma non tanto. The first movement revolves around a diatonic melody that soon develops into complex pianistic figuration. The second theme opens with quiet exchanges between the orchestra and the piano.

One of the best findings for me when I moved to Istanbul, was the TRT Radio 3 station to which I listen from the moment I wake up till I go to sleep at night. It mostly plays classical music and jazz and the quality of their programs is very good! Sometimes I am late to work (hello boss 😆) because I consider it a crime to turn off the radio when it's playing an amazing piece of music from their archives and I know that I probably won't be able to find it again. Just like this morning, when there was a program about the Titan of the Piano, Vladimir Horowitz and they played his plague recordings of the timeless pieces by Chopin, Rachmaninov, Scriabin, Scarlatti... I listened in awe with the stroke of each key and his virtuoso took my breath away. I couldn't move, I was listening with all my heart and I didn't want the magic to end. Words are not enough to express the whirlwind of emotions I felt enchanted by the colors of what I was hearing! It was pure magic! And funny enough, a few hours later, I came across an article on BBC talking about the ways that listening to classical music could improve your life. Definitely no news to me, but just so you know, it is highly recommended to make classical music part of your "self-care" routine, because of all the positive ways it can impact your mental health and well-being. Indeed, I cannot imagine a day in my life without classical music and I make an effort to listen to it live as often as I can. The soul needs feeding too 😉 Oh and when you get a chance, read up on Horowitz! What an incredible life he'd had, so glad I got to know more about him today. ..........................................................
